Eloquest Icons_Mastisol Repeated dressing displacement and device dislodgement is not only inconvenient, but it can be costly, too. Mastisol liquid adhesive can help assure long-lasting adhesion of your tapes, dressings and devices even in moist area; giving you one less thing to worry about:

  • Non-water soluble: swim, shower and sweat without loss of adhesion
  • Proven holding power: clinically-proven to improve the adhesive power of a variety of tapes/dressings¹ ²
  • Clear formulation: will not stain skin or clothes
  • Safe: reduced risk of contact dermatitis and superior adhesion vs Benzoin³

Frequently asked questions

WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENTS IN MASTISOL?

Gum Mastic • Storax (styrax) Liquid • Alcohol (ethanol) • Methyl Salicylate
HOW DO I REMOVE SPILLED MASTISOL?

•Hard Non-Porous Surface-Use Detachol liquid adhesive remover or mineral oil to cleanse the area. •Fabric-If Mastisol has already dried on the item, remove as much as you can from the fabric using your fingernail; only do this if the fabric is sturdy enough to handle gentle scraping (i.e.cotton, polyester). Soak the item in warm soapy water for 30 minutes & wash in your washing machine per the fabric’s cleaning instructions. If necessary, repeat the process. Confirm Mastisol has been removed completely before placing item in dryer.
DOES MASTISOL CONTAIN LATEX?

None of Eloquest Healthcare’s products are made with natural rubber latex.
HOW DO I APPLY MASTISOL?

Saturate a clean piece of gauze, cotton ball or cotton-tip applicator with Mastisol. Taking care not to come in contact with non-intact skin (i.e. cut, suture area), apply a thin layer of Mastisol to the entire area of the skin that will come in contact with the adhesive part of the dressing. To ensure maximum adhesion, it is better to make the Mastisol application area slightly larger than your dressing, rather than smaller. It is very important that you allow Mastisol to dry (~20-30 seconds) before securing the dressing. Once Mastisol has dried, place the dressing so that the adhesive edges come into contact with the area where Mastisol has been applied to the skin. For additional instructions, please see our Mastisol Instructions for Use link. NOTE: Applying a thick coating of Mastisol does not make the dressing adhere better or improve dressing securement times; rather it could lessen Mastisol’s effectiveness.
